About as long as I’ve been in Boston, fellow music nerd Barry Thompson and I have dissected every AFI movement through the years. Through the ups and downs which hit at different points in our opinions, we’ve remained compelled by Davey Havok’s uniquely cryptic lyrics and Jade Puget’s moody mix of punk, glam, and electronic. You can read my review of their newest album at New Noise. It’s not their finest album ever, but it continues to grow on me and certainly outdoes other efforts. When they stopped by the Paradise Rock Club in Boston, I was over the moon to collaborate with Barry in covering it and have my first contribution to Vanyaland! Check out the photos here and then read Barry’s review over there!
